Transfers from Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport to Pasikuda By Train
Traveling from Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport to Pasikuda is somewhat possible by train and only part of the whole distance.
While there is no direct connection between these two places, it is possible to take a train ride from the city of Colombo to Batticaloa, which is near Pasikuda.
These trains depart from the Colombo Fort train station, which can be most conveniently reached using the public transit system by catching a line 265 bus.
The closest to Airport bus stop where you can do so is the 18th Mile Post, north and some 900 meters walk from the arrival terminal.
Through this bus stop, buses pass on average every 10-15 minutes. This bus will take you to the Colombo Central Bus Stand, some 700 meters from Fort station.
From Colombo, there are two daily departures heading to Batticaloa, at 0605 and 1900.
The evening departure is a night mail train, which arrives at Batticaloa at 0355 the next day, which makes it very inconvenient.
From Batticaloa train station there is a kilometer walk to a bus stop where you can embark on lines 48, 48-1, 48-12, 48-13, 48-31; buses that will take you to Valaichchena Junction, which is 6 kilometers taxi ride from your destination.
These buses depart from Batticaloa 13 times a day at various times, on average every hour or an hour and a half.

Transfer from Colombo Airport to Pasikuda By Bus
Transferring from Colombo Airport to Pasikuda is possible, but is equally inconvenient as traveling by train. Because there is no direct line between these two places you have to first reach the city of Colombo.
By taking a line 265 bus from the 18th Mile Post, located some 900 meters from the arrivals terminal, you can reach the Colombo Central Bus Stand.
From here, it is 500 meters walk to Colombo Fort bus station. From Colombo Fort there are 13 daily departures toward Batticaloa, on the 48, 48-1, 48-12, 48-13, and 48-31; bus routes.
Though all of these busses pass through Valaichchena Junction, they do not stop there. Thus you will have to make a return trip on the same bus you have arrived in Batticaloa.
Once you reach Valaichchena Junction, your only option is to hire a taxi to your hotel in Pasikuda.
