On our way, we will visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. This institution was started as an orphanage for wild elephant calves found abandoned around Sri Lanka. Today is running a successful breeding program, and every morning you can see baby elephants happily playing in the Maha Oya River.
Rising 200 meters above the surrounding plains and ancient gardens with pools and lakes is Lion Rock. On its summit is the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a 5th-century citadel built on the whim of a king.
In the afternoon we will take a Stroll Through the Villages that surround Sigiriya, and experience the soul of the island.

On our way, we will visit the Golden Temple of Dambulla. This Buddhist temple is a place of worship since at least the 1st century BC. Through the centuries of its existence, it was adorned with more than 150 statues of Buddha, and more than 2,100 square meters of religious wall paintings.
Continuing on our way, we will visit Spice and Herbal Garden. Many spices you can find in your pantry today, spread around the world as ingredients of potions and medicine in ancient times. Here you can learn about their history and production, and also procure them, or traditional remedies and wellness treatments made of these natural products.
Arriving in Kandy we will attend the Kandyan Dance Show. Starting at 4 pm, we will experience dances of Sinhala civilization. Dance routines derived from religious rituals, and an art form celebrating nature, gods, and historic events.
After the show, we will visit one of the holiest Buddhist places in Sri Lanka. Sri Dalada Maligawa, or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, the temple which is the home of the sacred relic of Buddha’s tooth.
If time allows it, we will visit the Gem Museum, traditional Woodworking Factory, or the Batik Factory where the cloth is dyed using this ancient technique.

The first stop we will make is after just a few kilometers at the Royal Botanic Gardens, home to more than 4,000 different plant species among which is the world-renowned collection of orchids.
Continuing on our way, we will take a guided tour through a Tea Factory, a place where you can learn about the history and process of producing some of the best tea in the world.
Our next stop will the Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple, a place of worship dedicated to Hanuman, a member of the Hindu pantheon and one of the central characters of Ramayana. Just a short drive away is one of the most stunning waterfalls on the island, Ramboda Ella a majestic tiered waterfall over which waters cascade in the shape of the letter Y.
The cool temperate climate of tea country is very favorable for the cultivation of many fruits more common for continental Europe. And we will visit the Strawberry Farm, where you can indulge in products of these aromatic fruits.

On our trip, we will visit two places related to events of epic Ramayana. Seetha Aman Temple is a Hindu place of worship, dedicated to princess Sitha who spent part of her captivity where this temple now stands. The wooded area above it is known as the Ashok Vatika, according to the Ramayana, here lord Hanuman has presented to Sitha a proof of his identity.
The rest of the day we will enjoy on the Lake Gregory. This artificial lake was constructed in the 19th century, and since then it is a favored spot for leisure, long walks, and boating.

Continuing on our way, we will visit the Galle Fort, a stunningly well preserved European fortress. Originally built by Portuguese in the 16th century and expanded by Dutch in the 17th, today is one of the most popular landmarks in Sri Lanka.
