Afterward, we will climb the nearby Pidurangala Rock, a place from which you can enjoy a view encompassing the whole city of Sigiriya with Lion Rock proudly rising above it.

In the afternoon, we will have a safari in the Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park. These two wildlife sanctuaries are located on the banks of historic artificial lakes, Minneriya Wewa and Kaudulla Wewa, both dammed in the second half of the 3rd century AD. During the dry season, most of the wildlife from the surrounding area migrate to these two parks in search of water and food. Depending on the part of the dry season, you can see the largest gathering of wild Sri Lankan elephants in one of these two parks. According to historical evidence, spices from Sri Lanka were traded with Europe, Africa and the rest of Asia, since ancient times.

When we arrive in Kandy, we will go to the cultural heritage show, and watch the Kandyan Dance Show. Also known as Uda Rata Natum, it is a collage of Sri Lankan traditional dances that through centuries have developed from various religious rituals, as a representation of historical events, legends, and nature.
