Day 1 – Airport to Kandy
Upon your arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, a T2 Travels representative will meet and greet you. And we will start on the road to Kandy.
Our first stop will be at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Institution founded as a sanctuary for injured and abandoned wild Sri Lankan elephant calves. Today it is the home of the largest captive elephant herd in the world and runs a successful wild elephant breeding program. Every morning, both adult and baby elephants are taken to nearby Maya Oya River, where they bath and play.
Continuing on our way, we will visit the Spice and Herbal Garden. Through millennia, Sri Lanka is famous for its spices and traditional Ayurvedic herbal remedies and beauty treatments. Especially for the native tree of the true cinnamon. Here you can learn about their production, or buy some of these high-quality natural products.
When we arrive at Kandy, we will attend the Kandyan Dance Show that starts at 4 pm. This spectacle presents one of the most important intangible heritages of Sinhala civilizations. The dance routines which over centuries developed from religious rituals and as an art form. But also shows the elaborate traditional costumes of the Kandyan period, which lasted from the 15th to 19th century AD.
After the show, we will visit one of the most important Buddhist temples in Sri Lanka. Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is the temple built by Sinhalese kings for housing and veneration of one of the holiest relics for Buddhists on the island, the sacred relic of Buddha’s tooth.
If time allows it, we will also visit the Gem Museum, traditional Wood Carving, or Batik Cloth Factory.

Day 2 – Kandy to Negombo
After breakfast at the hotel in Kandy, we will proceed toward Negombo.
On our way, we will stop in the neighborhood of Peradeniya. The area near the Mahaweli River, where in the 14th century AD palace gardens of one of the first Kandyan kings were, today is the Royal Botanic Garden. It is home to more than 4,000 different plant species, including endemic species of Sri Lanka, medicinal herbs, spices, trees, and flowering plants, among which a special place has the world-renowned collection of orchids.
Continuing on along the road toward Negombo, we will visit the town of Kitulgala. Located on the Kelani River, this town is popular for two reasons. First, as former set of Academy-award winning, and officially the 11th greatest British movie of the 20th century, the Bridge on the River Kwai. Of the movie set remaining is only the concrete foundation of the eponymous bridge. The town is also popular for White Water Rafting, an adrenaline-pumping activity we will engage in. The river flows through one of the last virgin rainforests on the island, presenting an astonishing background for adventures.

Day 3 – Negombo to Airport
After breakfast at the hotel in Negombo, we will start on our way to Bandaranaike International Airport.
In the morning we will visit the Fish Market. Negombo is one of the most important cities for the fishing industry of Sri Lanka, and its fish market is the largest on the island. We will experience the action and hustle of fish auctions.
Afterward, we will have a Boat Trip on the Hamilton Canal. This waterway connects the northern outskirts of Negombo with the Negombo Lagoon in the south, running parallel to the Old Dutch Canal. It was constructed in 1804 and was a very important commercial waterway. Today it is a very popular attraction, as it runs by many popular landmarks of Negombo.
