Day 1 – Airport to Sigiriya

When you arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport a T2 Travel representative will meet and greet you. Afterward, we will start on our journey to Sigiriya.

Sigiriya Rock Fortress was constructed in the 5th century AD on the summit of a 200 meters tall Lion Rock. We will pass through the majestic Lion Gate, and explore the sights of this stunning edifice of Sinhalese civilization.

Afterward, we will have a Jeep Safari through Minneriya National Park. Situated near 3rd-century AD artificial lake, Minneriya Wewa, this park is teeming with wildlife that migrates from surrounding areas during the dry season in search of water and food.

Day 2 – Sigiriya to Kandy

After breakfast at the hotel in Sigiriya, we will start our trip to Kandy.

On our way, we will visit the Golden Temple of Dambulla. This cave temple complex is a place of Buddhist worship since at least the 1st century BC. Over the centuries of its existence, the interiors of five caves were decorated with more than 2,100 square meters of religious paintings.

Continuing on our way, we will visit a Spice and Herbal Garden. Place where you can learn about many spices that originate from this island, including the true cinnamon.

When we arrive in Kandy, we will attend the Kandyan Dance Show. This show presents the immaterial heritage of Sinhalese civilization, traditional dances and traditional costumes of the Kandyan kingdom.

After the show, we will visit one of the holiest places of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a temple built for the purpose of safekeeping and veneration of the sacred relic of Buddha’s tooth.

Day 3 – Kandy to Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast at the hotel in Kandy, we will proceed to Nuwara Eliya.

In the morning, we will visit the Royal Botanic Garden. This institution, one of the most important botanic gardens on the island, is home to the National Herbarium of Sri Lanka and a collection of more than 4,000 different plant species.

Continuing on our way, we will visit a Tea Factory. While wandering among tea tree plants and factory floors, you will be able to learn about the history and process of producing some of the best tea in the world.

Afterward, we will visit the Sri Bhakta Hanuman, a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, a Hindu deity and one of the central characters of the epic Ramayana. Just a short drive away is the Ramboda Ella, a tiered waterfall over which water slopes in the shape of letter Y.

Arriving in Nuwara Eliya, we will spend leisure time in the style of wealthy colonial planters. On Lake Gregory, you can enjoy trout fishing, boating, or a romantic walk along its banks.

Day 4 – Nuwara Eliya to Ella

Before the sunrise, we will get on the road. Breakfast is provided as a takeaway in Horton Plains National Park.

First thing in the morning, we will visit the Horton Plains National Park. Rising more than 2,000 meters above sea level, these plains are a place of particular beauty. Getting there very early in the morning will reward you with the sight of valleys below which is truly worth it.

Continuing on our way we will encounter a sight more expected in the cold German north. At New Zealand Dairy Farm, we will see the purebred Friesian cattle in their characteristic black and white livery, lazily grazing the rolling grassland.

Afterward, we will head to town Nanuoya, from where we will take a Train Trip to Ella. This stretch of railway tracks is world-famous as one of the most scenic and romantic train rides in the world, slowly meandering among lush green tea estates and rainforests.

Day 5 – Ella to Mirissa

After breakfast at the hotel in Ella, we will start on our way to Mirissa.

Ella is a place of bewitching vistas, and we will hike to Little Adam’s Peak to enjoy one of the most beautiful. Named after the famous pilgrimage location, due to similar physical characteristics, but presents a much less arduous hike.

Continuing on our way, we will visit two places where princess Sita spent part of her captivity. The Ravana Ella is a waterfall under which she bathed while she was imprisoned in the Ravana Cave. This cave is also an important archeological site, where 25,000 years old evidence of human habitation was found.

Afterward, we will visit the ancient temple Buduruwagala, so old that not even its original name is known. Today it is called after its stunning feature dating from the 10th century AD, the Rock of Buddhist Sculpture or Buduruvagala.

When we arrive in Mirissa, we will spend the rest of the day in Leisure. Mirissa is a town famous for its stunningly beautiful beaches and many hip restaurants and bars that are located on them.

Day 6 – Mirissa to Colombo

After breakfast at the hotel in Mirissa, we will get on our way to Colombo.

Traveling along the coast, we will visit the Galle Fort. This 16th-century fortress today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the best-preserved European fortification from colonial times in Sri Lanka.

Afterward, we will visit the Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project. This institution is dedicated to protecting these magnificent creatures and operates a hatchery that provides an opportunity for baby turtles to emerge from eggs safe from predators and other dangers.

While in Kosgoda we will participate in River Boat Safari on Madu Ganga River, and on a one-hour ride explore its marshy mangrove-covered banks and islands.

Day 7 – Colombo to Airport

After breakfast at the hotel in Colombo, we will start the trip to Bandaranaike International Airport.

In the morning, we will take a sightseeing tour of Colombo. The Old Fort area, the National Museum of Sri Lanka, Streets of Pettah neighborhood, Gangaramaya Temple, Beira Lake, Independence Memorial Hall, and Galle Face Green; are some of the places we will visit.
