Day 1 – Airport to Colombo

When arriving at Bandaranaike International Airport, a T2 Travels representative will be waiting to meet and greet you. Afterward, we will start our trip to Colombo.

On our way, we will have a sightseeing tour of Colombo. We will visit the historic neighborhood of the Old Fort. Near the Beira Lake is the Buddhist Gangaramaya Temple, we will also visit the National Museum and the nearby Independence Memorial Hall. Our excursion will conclude with the visit of the Old Dutch Hospital, traversing the colorful streets of Pettah neighborhood, and visiting the most popular urban park, the Galle Face Green.

Day 2 – Colombo to Nuwara Eliya

Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast at the hotel in Colombo, we will start our journey to Nuwara Eliya, via Kandy.

The first stop on our way will be Peradeniya, the suburb of Kandy. Here we will visit the Royal Botanic Gardens, which boasts a collection of more than 4,000 different plant species, among which the most famous is the collection of orchids.

Afterward, we will visit one of the holiest places of Buddhist worship in Sri Lanka. The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is temple where the sacred relic of Buddha’s tooth is kept.

At 4 pm starts the cultural heritage show we will attend. The Kandyan Dance Show which showcases the traditional dances that over centuries have developed from religious rituals and as an art form.

After the show, we will continue on our way to Nuwara Eliya.

Day 3 – Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast at the hotel in Nuwara Eliya, we will embark on exploring this town and its surroundings.

In the morning we will take a tour through Tea Factory, where while strolling through lush green fields of tea tree you can learn about the history and production of some of the best tea in the world.

Next, we will visit the Shri Bhakta Hanuman, a temple dedicated to this Hindu deity and one of the central characters of epic Ramayana.

High in the mountains, Nuwara Eliya is characterized by a mild and temperate climate, which is favored by vegetables and fruits that more common in continental Europe. Thus, we will visit Strawberry Farm, where you can indulge in the aroma of this wholesome fruit.

Afterward, we will visit two places closely related to the events of the epic Ramayana. The Seeta Aman Kovil is a temple dedicated to the goddess Sitha, located in the place where she spent part of her captivity. Near the temple flows a stream with rocky banks, according to legend these stones contain footprints of Lord Hanuman. Above the temple is a wooded area known as the Ashok Vatika, a place where Lord Hanuman presented to Sitha proof of his identity, under an Ashok tree.

The afternoon we will spend on Lake Gregory, and artificial lake popular since colonial times as a place of comfort and relaxation. Here you can enjoy strolling or boating.

Day 4 – Nuwara Eliya to Bentota

After breakfast at the hotel in Nuwara Eliya, we will get on our way to Bentota.

On our way, we will see two of the most beautiful waterfalls in Sri Lanka. The St. Clair’s Fall is one of the widest waterfalls, while the Devon Falls majestically slopes earning the nickname Veil of the Valley.

Continuing on our way, we will reach the town of Kosgoda. Here we will experience the River Boat Safari on Madu Ganga River. The banks of this river are marshy mangrove forests of immense beauty and home to a wealth of wildlife.

Day 5 – Bentota to Colombo

After breakfast at the hotel in Bentota, we will start on our way to Colombo.

Arriving in Colombo, we will explore the sights of this city that we overlooked on the first visit. Among them will be the Sri Kailasanathar Swami Devasthanam Kovil, the oldest and arguably the most beautiful Hindu temple in Colombo.

Day 6 – Colombo to Airport

After breakfast at the hotel in Colombo, we will start on our way to Bandaranaike International Airport and bid farewell to this magnificent country.
