Day 1 – Airport to Anuradhapura

When you arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, a T2 Travels representative will meet and greet you. Then we will proceed to Anuradhapura.

On our way, we will visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. A place that was founded to provide sanctuary and care to wild elephant calves found abandoned around Sri Lanka.

If interested, we will embark on a Jeep Safari through the Wilpattu National Park. This park is the largest and one of the two oldest in Sri Lanka. It is world-renowned for the large population of leopards, as around 45 of these majestic cats call it home.

Arriving in the Ancient City of Anuradhapura, we will visit many of the important places of this city which was the capital of Sinhalese civilization from the 1st century BC to around 1017 AD. Among many of them is the oldest living tree in the world with the known date of planting, the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi.

Day 2 – Anuradhapura to Sigiriya

After breakfast at the hotel in Anuradhapura, we will start our journey to Sigiriya.

Arriving in Sigiriya, we will climb the Lion Rock and visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. This magnificent citadel was built on top of this 200 meters high rock in the 5th century AD.

Afterward, we will take a Jeep Safari through Minneriya National Park. This wildlife sanctuary is located near the Minneriya Wewa, an artificial lake constructed in the 3rd century AD. From surrounding areas, animals migrate here during dry seasons looking for water and food.

Day 3 – Sigiriya to Kandy

After breakfast at the hotel in Sigiriya, we will head for Kandy.

In the morning we will visit the Golden Temple of Dambulla. This cave temple complex, existing since the 1st century BC, is the best-preserved and one of the largest Buddhist cave temple complexes in Sri Lanka.

When we arrive in Kandy, we will embark on a tour of the city and visit the Gem Museum, traditional Wood Carving Factory, and a Batik Factory.

We will also visit one of the holiest places for Buddhists in Sri Lanka. The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the temple where the sacred relic of Buddha’s tooth is kept.

In the afternoon, we will attend the cultural heritage show. Kandyan Dance Show is a spectacle that showcases traditional Sinhala dances, which have developed over centuries from religious rituals and as an art form.

Day 4 – Kandy to Nuwara Eliya

Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast at the hotel in Kandy, we will start our journey to Nuwara Eliya.

On our way, we will visit the Shri Bhakta Hanuman Kovil, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, one of the central characters of epic Ramayana. A short drive from this temple is one of the most stunning waterfalls on the island, the Ramboda Ella, over which water flows in a Y shape.

Continuing on our way, we will take a tour of a Tea Plantation, where you will be able to learn about the history of tea production in Sri Lanka and taste some of the best tea in the world.

Afterward, we will visit the Seetha Amman Kovil, a temple dedicated to the Hindu goddess, princess Sitha, which was imprisoned at this place by the demon king Ravana.

Day 5 – Nuwara Eliya to Yala

After breakfast at the hotel in Nuwara Eliya, we will start on our journey to Yala.

In the morning we will visit another place related to princess Sitha’s captivity. The stunningly beautiful waterfall under which she bathed, the Ravana Ella.

Arriving to Yala National Park, we will embark on the safari through it. Yala is one of the two oldest national parks in Sri Lanka. Wildlife sanctuary and place of great biodiversity, it is known as the place with the highest concentration of leopards in the world.

Day 6 – Yala to Bentota

After breakfast at the hotel in Yala, we will start on our trip to Bentota.

On our way, we will visit the town of Dondra, where Dewundara Lighthouse is located. This lighthouse is one of just two dozen in the world purpose-built to house the class of the physically largest lighthouse lenses.

Continuing along the coast, we will visit the Galle Fort. The best-preserved European colonial era fortification in Sri Lanka.

Upon arriving in Bentota, we will enjoy in Leisure time at the hotel or on the beach. By facing to the west, this beach is a perfect place for a romantic beach-walk at sunset.

Day 7 – Bentota

After breakfast at the hotel in Bentota, we will spend the day on many activities available in this town.

Our first visit will be to the nearby town of Kosgoda, where we will have a River Boat Safari on Madu Ganga River. During this one hour ride, we will explore the marshy mangrove forest teeming with birdlife.

Madu Ganga River at one point grows into the Maduganga Lake, and here we will visit the Cinnamon Island and experience the production of this wholesome spice, from the bark of the true cinnamon tree.

Bentota is the town most popular for water sports and Ayurvedic spa and wellness centers. After relaxing Fish Foot Therapy, we will embark on experiencing the activities available in this town. Snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, banana boat rides, are just some of those available.

Day 8 – Bentota to Colombo

After breakfast at the hotel in Bentota, we will get on the road to Colombo.

After we arrive in Colombo, we will take a sightseeing tour of this city. During this excursion, we will see the colonial-era buildings of the Old Fort area, the National Museum of Sri Lanka, the Streets of Pettah neighborhood, the Red Mosque, Gangaramaya Temple, Beira Lake, Independence Memorial Hall, and the Galle Face Green seaside promenade.

Day 9 – Colombo to Airport
